Because the scope of this project has grown beyond the capacity of a single

volunteer and legal issues prevent us from using a classic open-source development model,

the HCF and HSF drivers are now available in two editions:

a free version limited to 14.4Kbps data, available at no cost. Please use it to test if your hardware is compatible.

a full version with 56K and FAX, available for a modest price.

The DGC driver is available at no charge. Proceeds will be used to further improve the drivers. Getting the full version is the best way to encourage us and ensure that this project continues.

Modems supported by the Conexant drivers

Note: Conexant does not provide drivers for Linux, but commercial Linux drivers are available from Linuxant, a separate company. Licenses cost 19.99 US dollars. But note that full-featured versions of the drivers are also freely available from Dell. Note: For modems hosted on High Definition Audio HDA cards, there is dependence upon the snd-hda-intel ALSA driver already on your System. If you upgrade ALSA beyond the version supported in the Linuxant-based driver code including the oem distributed by Dell, the hsfmodem drivers will fail and your sound will most likely break.

Note: Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, Hardy 8.04 and SUSE 11.0, 11.1 users with HDA modems: Installing the latest alsa-driver-linuxant package is necessary before installing this driver.

4. Peel the patch off of the foil.

5. Peel half of the plastic off the patch, being careful not

to touch the sticky part.

6. Stick the patch to your skin, peeling off the rest of the

plastic.

7. Push the patch against your skin using the palm of your

hand for 10 seconds.

8. Remove the patch on the same day the following week.

9. Apply a new patch in the same manner.

10. Dispose of the old patch by folding it in half so that

it sticks to itself. Place it in a sealed plastic bag, and throw it away.

11. Do this for three weeks. On the fourth week, take a

break from the patch. Then start again the next week.

When using the patch:

always apply it to clean, dry skin

do not use lotion, powder, or makeup under or

near the patch

do not apply the patch to your breast

do not flush the patch down the toilet

because it may contaminate the water supply with hormones

Every few days, it is also a good idea to check and make

certain the patch has not come loose.

If you discover that the patch has fallen off, consult the

pharmacy instructions for how to proceed. Plan to use a backup contraceptive

method for one week.
